I trecnoteri (Trechnotheria) sono un grande gruppo di mammiferi, che comprende i teri e alcuni mammiferi fossili dell'era Mesozoica.

Classificazione

Inizialmente descritti come una "superlegione", i trecnoteri sono poi stati considerati un clade comprendente l'ultimo antenato comune di Zhangheotherium e dei mammiferi teri viventi, e di tutti i suoi discendenti (Kielan-Jaworowska et al., 2005). L'inizio della storia evolutiva dei trecnoteri risale al Triassico superiore (circa 215 milioni di anni fa).
