Tigerland è un film del 2000 di Joel Schumacher.

Trama

Tratto da una storia vera. Nel settembre del 1971 un gruppo di reclute viene addestrato, prima di essere inviato in Vietnam. L'addestramento consiste in una perfetta simulazione di ciò che i ragazzi si troveranno ad affrontare in guerra, e avviene prima a Fort Polk e successivamente a Tigerland, una palude della Louisiana molto simile all'ambiente vietnamita. Tra tutte le reclute spicca il ribelle Roland Bozz, allergico alle regole, che non nasconde affatto la sua attitudine anti-patriottica. Odiato dai superiori e amato dai commilitoni, Bozz riuscirà a far esonerare, grazie alla sua ottima conoscenza del codice militare (ritiene di conoscerlo come un carcerato conosce i propri diritti), alcuni dei suoi compagni, forse salvando loro la vita, prima di partire per il Vietnam.

Produzione

Girato con un budget molto ridotto e con una macchina da presa a mano e in formato 16mm. Gli attori non hanno avuto a loro disposizione truccatori, parrucchieri né nessuno dei lussi a cui normalmente gli attori sono abituati. Le riprese sono durate 38 giorni, da febbraio a marzo 2000 in Florida.
