Sir Stanley Kendrick John, detto Stalky (Calliaqua, 1º giugno 1951), è un politico sanvincentino, Governatore generale di Saint Vincent e Grenadine dal 6 gennaio 2026.

Biografia

Dopo aver frequentato la St. Vincent Grammar School, nel 1976 si è laureato con lode in legge presso la University College di Londra ed è stato ammesso l'anno successivo alla Gray's Inn[1]. Tornato a Saint Vincent e Grenadine nel 1978, ha svolto la professione legale[2] fino al 2014[1], anno in cui è stato nominato Queen's Counsel.[3]

Dal 1992 al 1994 è stato leader del Partito Laburista di Saint Vincent e Grenadine, successivamente confluito nello Unity Labour Party. È stato membro della Camera dell'assemblea per due mandati: il primo dal 1983[3] al 1989, in qualità di senatore, e successivamente dal 1998 al 2001, questa volta come rappresentante della circoscrizione elettorale di East St. George.[1][4]

In seguito alle dimissioni di Susan Dougan, John è stato nominato Governatore generale di Saint Vincent e Grenadine.[5]

Vita privata

È sposato con Maureen John (nata Providence) e ha due figli.[2]
