NGC 3312 è una vasta galassia a spirale nella costellazione dell'Idra.
Scoperta
La galassia scoperta dall'astronomo britannico John Herschel il 26 marzo 1835. Il 26 febbraio 1887, la galassia è stata nuovamente osservata dall'astronomo francese Guillaume Bigourdan; la sua descrizione è stata in seguito inserita nell'Index Catalogue con la designazione IC 629.[1]
Descrizione
Fa parte dell'Ammasso dell'Idra assieme alle due galassie ellittiche NGC 3309 e NGC 3311.
