Jake Slaughter (Sparr, 19 dicembre 2002) è un giocatore di football americano statunitense che milita nel ruolo di centro per i Los Angeles Chargers della National Football League (NFL).

Carriera universitaria

Primi anni

Slaughter frequentò la Trinity Catholic High School di Ocala nello stato della Florida. Classificato come prospetto da tre stelle su cinque,[1] Slaughter inizialmente decise di giocare nel college football per i Florida State Seminoles prima di cambiare idea e scegliere i Florida Gators.[2]

Florida Gators

Slaughter passò la prima annata come redshirt, potendo cioè allenarsi con la squadra ma non scendere in campo.[3] Nel 2022 prese parte a tutte le 13 partite, principalmente come giocatore degli special team.[4] Nella stagione 2023 giocò 12 partite di cui 8 come centro titolare.[5]

Nel 2024 Slaughter venne nominato capitano. Terminò l'annata giocando titolare tutte le 13 partite dei Gators, venendo inserito nella formazione ideale della Southeastern Conference (SEC) e premiato come All-American.[5] Slaughter tornò a Florida per l'ultimo anno nel 2025, venendo nuovamente inserito a fine stagione nella formazione ideale della SEC e nella seconda formazione All-American.[6][7]

Carriera professionistica

Los Angeles Chargers

Slaughter venne selezionato dai Los Angeles Chargers nel corso del secondo giro (63º assoluto) del Draft NFL 2026.[8]
