Heinz Luthringshauser (Otterbach, 21 gennaio 1931 – 5 settembre 1997) è stato un pilota motociclistico tedesco.

Carriera

È uno dei piloti con la carriera sportiva nel motomondiale più lunga: i suoi primi risultati con punti iridati tra i sidecar risalgono al motomondiale 1961 e sono continuati sino al motomondiale 1979 quando aveva già 48 anni.

Il suo ultimo successo è stato nel motomondiale 1974 quando si è imposto nel Sidecar TT del Tourist Trophy a 43 anni^[1]. Nel 1970 ha ottenuto anche il titolo nazionale tedesco dei sidecar^[2].

In totale nei suoi anni di presenza ha ottenuto 2 vittorie e 16 piazzamenti sul podio dei singoli gran premi. L'anno migliore è stato il 1972 in cui sembrava destinato al titolo mondiale ed era in testa alla classifica generale sino al Gran Premio motociclistico di Cecoslovacchia 1972 in cui ebbe un grave incidente che portò alla morte del suo passeggero abituale Hans-Jürgen Cusnik^[3].

Nei primi anni di partecipazione, sino al 1974, ha sempre utilizzato motocarrozzette BMW mentre nell'ultimo anno di partecipazione, il 1979, ha gareggiato con una Yamaha tra i sidecar B2B, giungendo al nono posto finale. Dopo il ritiro ha creato nella sua città natale un museo che porta il suo nome^[4]. È deceduto il 5 settembre 1997 a 66 anni^[5].
