Ancyromonadida (talvolta indicati come Planomonadida) è un clade di eucarioti. La loro collocazione filogenetica è ancora incerta, sia per quanto riguarda l'inclusione ma neanche nel supergruppo Excavata. Secondo la classificazione classica, si tratta di un gruppo di protisti biflagellati presenti nel suolo e negli habitat acquatici, che si nutrono di batteri.[1][2]
Comprende organismi d'acqua dolce o salata, bentonici, compressi dorso-ventralmente e con due flagelli disuguali, ciascuno emergente da una tasca separata. Il flagello anteriore apicale è generalmente sottile e può essere in parte aderente alla superficie cellulare, mentre il flagello posteriore è lungo e si inserisce ventralmente o lateralmente. La superficie cellulare è sostenuta da uno strato sottile (pellicola) associato alla membrana plasmatica e le creste mitocondriali sono generalmente piatte (lamellari).[3]
