Mary Louise Cecilia "Texas" Guinan (12 Januari 1884 – 5 November 1933) adalah aktris, produser, dan entrepreneur berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat.

Latar belakang

Guinan merupakan puteri pertama dari tuju bersaudara yang lahir di Waco, Texas, dari pasangan imigran asal Irlandia-Kanada, Michael dan Bessie (née Duffy) Guinan. Dia menempuh pendidikan di sekolah paroki Loretta Convent di Waco. Ketika menginjak usia 16 tahun, keluarganya pindah ke Denver, Colorado, di mana dia menjalani sebagai penampil panggung amatir dan organis gereja. Guinan menikah dengan John Moynahan, seorang kartunis untuk Rocky Mountain News, pada 2 Desember 1904. Pasangan ini tidak memiliki anak. Karier Moynahan membawa mereka ke Chicago, di mana Guinan belajar musik gereja sebelum bercerai dan meulai kariernya sebagai penyanyi profesional. Dia melakukan tour regional vaudeville dengan beberapa kesuksesan, tetapi tidak terlalu dikenal sebagai penyanyi dibanding di ranah hiburan terkait dengan "Wild West".[1]
