Rabi'ah bin Abu Abdurrahman Farrukh at-Taimi al-Madani (bahasa Arab: ربيعة بن فرّوخ التيمى المدني), juga dikenal sebagai Rabi'ah ar-Ra'yi, adalah salah seorang Tabi'in termuda; yang merupakan ahli fiqih, hadits, serta mujtahid ternama dari kota Madinah.[1][2][3] Julukan Ar-Ra'yi (الرأي, ahli akal/logika) diberikan kepadanya karena ia memiliki pemikiran yang tajam, dan banyak menggunakan qiyas dan logika dalam memecahkan masalah saat ia tidak menemukan hadits shahih atau riwayat dari sahabat lainnya.[2][4]

Rabi'ah berasal dari golongan mawla (hamba yang dibebaskan).[1][3] Ayahnya Abu Abdurrahman Farrukh telah pergi berperang bersama pasukan Islam pada saat ia dilahirkan, dan ia dibesarkan oleh ibunya di Madinah.[4][5] Ia banyak belajar dari beberapa Sahabat Nabi dan para Tabi'in senior.[3][4] Para guru Rabi'ah antara lain Anas bin Malik, As-Saib bin Yazid, Hanzhalah bin Qais, Makhul asy-Syami, Salamah bin Dinar, Sa'id bin al-Musayyib, dan Al-Qasim bin Muhammad.[4]

Sedangkan para muridnya antara lain Malik bin Anas, Abu Hanifah Nu'man, Yahya bin Sa'id al-Anshari, Sufyan ats-Tsauri, Abdurrahman bin Amru al-Auza'i, Laits bin Sa'ad, Sulaiman bin Bilal, Isma'il bin Ja'far, Anas bin Iyadh dll.[4] Imam Malik yang banyak berguru padanya pernah menyatakan, bahwa setelah Salim bin Abdullah dan Al-Qasim meninggal, permasalahan agama banyak dikembalikan kepada Rabi'ah.[4]

Rabi'ah wafat dan dimakamkan di kota Hasyimiyyah (Irak), pada tahun 139 H (753/4 M).[1][2]
