רכס וילט (באנגלית: Willett Range[1]) הוא רכס או מצוק, באזור חוף סקוט, בארץ ויקטוריה, שבאנטארקטיקה[2].

הרכס משתרע לכיוון צפון, החל מפסגת מיסטייק[2]; אורכו של הרכס 37 קילומטרים[2]; והוא מגיע עד קרחון מקאיי[2].

גובהו של הרכס 2,449 מטרים מעל פני הים[3]; המצוק הגבוה מהווה את גבולו של מדף הקרח היבשתי[2].

מספר קרחונים הזורמים לכיוון מזרח מן הרמה "פורצים" את קו הרכס[2].

היסטוריה

גילוי ומיפוי הרכס

הרכס נחקר על ידי משלחת הסקר הצפונית הניו זילנדית (New Zealand Northern Survey Party) של המשלחת הטראנס-אנטארקטית של חבר העמים הבריטי אשר חקרה את אנטארקטיקה בין השנים 1956–1958[2][4]; המשלחת הקימה בסיסי סקר בקצה הדרומי של הרכס באוקטובר 1957 ובינואר 1958[4].

מקור השם

של הרכס ניתן לו על ידי משלחת הסקר הניו זילנדית[2][4].

הרכס נקרא ר. וו. וילט (R.W. Willett)[2][4], מנהל הסקר הגאולוגי של ניו זילנד[2][4], אשר סייע באופן משמעותי למשלחת הטראנס אנטארקטית במהלך המחקר והסקרים, ולאחר שובה של המשלחת - בעיבוד הנתונים שנאספו במחקר[2][4].
