במיתולוגיה הסינית, עץ הכסף (בסינית: 搖錢樹) הוא עץ קדוש, שלפי האמונה, יכול להביא כסף והון לעם, והוא מהווה סמל של שפע, אצילות והנאה. ניתן לייחס את עץ הכסף לחברות פרימיטיביות. בעוד שעצי הכסף עשויים להיגזר ממיתוס עץ השמש הקשור לגן עדן, למטבעות יש קשר בין גן עדן לשפע חומרי.[1] על פי הנרטיבים ההיסטוריים הקיימים, המושג "עץ הכסף" הופיע לראשונה לכל המאוחר בתקופת שושלת האן.[2] עצי כסף מברונזה יצוקה וכלי חרס מזוגגים ירוקים מהווים תכונה בולטת בקברים שנמצאו בסצ'ואן המתוארכים לתקופת שושלת האן.[1][2][3]

סיפור עממי אחד מספר על פסל שהניח כסף מזויף על גבי עצים רק בכדי להערים על תושבי הכפר לכרות את העצים עבורו. עם זאת, לפי סיפור עממי זה, תושבי הכפר סירבו לבקשת הפסל לאחר שהאמינו שהעץ הוא עץ קדוש. כמו כן, תושבי הכפר הזהירו את הפסל שאם יכרות או יפגע בעץ הוא יקולל. בסוף הסיפור העממי, תושבי הכפר נותנים שוחד לפסל בכדי שלא יפגע בעץ.[4]

עץ הכסף מופיע במהלך חגיגות ראש השנה הסיני.[3][5]
