מכוונות לשליטה חברתית

מכוונות לשליטה חברתית (באנגלית: Social dominance orientation) הוא מושג המתואר בתאוריית השליטה החברתית כתכונה אישיותית המשקפת את מידת הצורך של האדם בארגון חברתי המבוסס על היררכיה קבוצתית והרצון לשוות לה ולעצמו מעמד של עליונות על פני קבוצת החוץ.[1] צורך זה מוצא ביטוי בהתנהגויות של אפליה, ובהשתתפות בתהליכים בין-קבוצתיים ומוסדיים המיטיבים עם קבוצה אחת, דומיננטית יותר, ולא עם קבוצות אחרות פחותות כוח. לכך נלווית תמיכה בנרטיבים מבניים המבססים לגיטימציה לאפליה ולאי-שוויון על היותן של קבוצות דומיננטיות וקבוצות שוליות בחברה במקום שהן ראויות לו לכאורה.[1]

במחקר מעבדה מצאו מוריסון ואיברה (2008), כי משתתפים בעלי הזדהות חזקה עם קבוצתם נטו להגיב ברמה גבוהה יותר של SDO בעקבות איום.[2] במחקר נוסף שבחן את תפקיד סטטוס הקבוצה בתנאים הללו, נמצא כי בתגובה לאיום נתפס חברי קבוצות בעלי סטטוס גבוה נטו להפגין רמה גבוהה יותר SDO, ואילו חברי קבוצות בעלות סטטוס נמוך הגיבו לאיום בירידה ברמת ה-SDO. גם קשרים אלה התבטאו אצל יחידים בעלי הזדהות חזקה עם קבוצתם. מכאן עולה כי איום נתפס עורר בקרב חברי שתי הקבוצות המזדהים עם קבוצתם – נמוכות-סטטוס וגבוהות-סטטוס כאחת – ניסיונות לשיפור מצבן ושיכוך האיום.[3]

מצד אחר, טענה רווחת היא כי SDO משקפת נטייה כללית לתמיכה בעליונות של קבוצות מסוימות ונחיתותן של אחרות. קרי, תמיכה של הפרט בהיררכיה החברתית, גם אם זו אינה בהכרח מיטיבה עם קבוצתו שלו.[4] בקבוצות גבוהות-סטטוס אין סתירה בין שני מניעים אלה, שכן ההיררכיה החברתית היא זו שמקנה לקבוצת הפנים את יתרונה. בקבוצות נמוכות-סטטוס, לעומת זאת, תמיכה במבנה החברתי הקיים, ההיררכי, משמעה הצדקת מיקומה הנמוך יותר של הקבוצה במורד ההיררכיה החברתית. לפיכך, בקרב קבוצות נמוכות-סטטוס, מצבים אלה אמורים להתבטא בדפוס ההפוך, כלומר בקשר שלילי בין SDO לבין דעות קדומות. זאת על בסיס הטענה, שבקבוצה נמוכת הסטטוס התופסת את המבנה החברתי כהוגן ולגיטימי, תימצאנה תופעות של הפגנת העדפה כלפי קבוצות החוץ והפחתת עוצמת העוינות כלפיה.[4]

פרטים התומכים בדוממינטיות חברתית מעריכים כוח ולכידות קבוצתית ודוגלים בהיררכיה חברתית לא שוויונות בין קבוצות בחברה.[5]
