מרגרט דביי רוג'רס[1] (באנגלית: Margaret Debay Rogers; נולדה ב-25 באפריל 1994) היא זמרת-יוצרת ומפיקה מוזיקלית אמריקאית. היא הייתה מועמדת לפרס גראמי לתגלית השנה בשנת 2019.

שנותיה המוקדמות

מאגי רוג'רס גדלה בחוף המזרחי של מרילנד לאורך גדות נהר מיילס באיסטון, מחוז טלבוט, מרילנד. אביה הוא סוחר בדימוס של חברת פורד ואמה, אחות מוסמכת לשעבר, היא כיום דולה בהוספיס.[2] היא החלה לנגן בנבל בגיל שבע ואהבה את המוזיקה של גוסטב הולסט ואנטוניו ויוואלדי. אמה הייתה משמיעה אמני נאו-נשמה כמו אריקה באדו ולורן היל. כשהייתה בחטיבת הביניים, הוסיפה רוג'רס פסנתר וגיטרה לרפרטואר שלה והחלה בכתיבת שירים בכיתה ח'.[3] בבית הספר ניגנה נבל בתזמורת, שרה במקהלה, הצטרפה ללהקת ג'אז, למדה בנג'ו והתעניינה במוזיקה עממית ולמדה את עצמה כיצד לתכנת. היא גם בילתה קיצים רבים במהלך שנות הילדות שלה במחנה כפרי במיין.[4]

בשנת 2016, לאחר שנתיים של מחסום כתיבה,[6] רוג'רס כתבה את "Alaska". היא ניגנה את השיר לפארל ויליאמס בכיתת אמן שלימד בבית הספר שלה, וסרטון של ויליאמס מאזין לשיר הפך לוויראלי בחודש יוני, וגרר מיליוני צפיות ומאות אלפי השמעות של The Echo ו-Blood Ballet.[8]

רוג'רס בהופעה בשנת 2019

ב-13 בנובמבר 2020 שיתפה רוג'רס פעולה עם פיבי ברידג'רס על גרסת כיסוי לשיר "Iris" מ-1998 של להקת הגו גו דולס, שבריג'רס אמרה שתעשה אם דונלד טראמפ יפסיד בהבחירות בארצות הברית לשנת 2020.[15]

חיים אישיים

לרוגרס יש סינסתזיה, מצב שבו שני חושים או יותר נתפסים בבת אחת. במקרה שלה, היא מסוגלת לתפוס צבעים כתגובה לשמיעת מוזיקה.[16]

רוג'רס לומדת כיום בבית הספר לתארים מתקדמים בבית אוניברסיטת הרווארד.[17][18]
