לינוס גבריאל סבסטיאן (באנגלית: Linus Gabriel Sebastian; נולד ב-20 באוגוסט 1986) הוא יוטיובר קנדי, ומייסדה של קבוצת לינוס מדיה (Linus Media Group)

סבסטיאן ידוע בעיקר בזכות יצירתם של ארבעה ערוצי יוטיוב: ‏"Linus Tech Tips",‏ "Techquickie",‏ "TechLinked" ו-‏"ShortCircuit", שמספר המנויים שלהם הוא מעל 20 מיליון והוא גם הבעלים של חברת Floatplane Media[1].

נכון לינואר 2022, הערוץ הפופולרי ביותר של סבסטיאן, "Linus Tech Tips", בעל מעל ל-14 מיליון רשומים, ונחשב לערוץ הקנדי ה-11 הגדול ביותר מבחינת מספר רשומיו.[2]

חיים אישיים

סבסטיאן נשוי לאיבון הו מ-20 במאי 2011[3]. יש להם בן אחד ושתי בנות[4][5][6].

בראיון לאתר הסטארט-אפ הטכנולוגי ‏Tech.Co, סבסטיאן אמר כי היוטיוברים האהובים עליו ביותר הם TotalBiscuit, iJustine ,Austin Evans ו-Marques Brownlee[7]. בפברואר 2014 סבסטיאן תרם כסף לאוונס, שאיבד את רכושו ואת ביתו בשריפה[8][9].

בינואר 2020 אמר סבסטיאן כי הוא שוקל לפרוש אך לבסוף אמר כי אינו מתכוון לפרוש בשלב זה[10][11].

בסוף 2021 ביקר בישראל במשרדים של אינטל.

קריירה

NCIX ולינוס טק טיפס

סבסטיאן עבד כמנהל בחנות המחשבים המקוונת NCIX. הוא התבקש על ידי החברה להיות מגיש בערוץ היוטיוב שלה, שנוצר כדי לסייע בהדגמת מוצרים. סבסטיאן נעזר בצלם ועורך לא מזוהה, עבד עם משאבים מוגבלים וצילם סרטונים במצלמה שהושאלה מבנו של נשיא החברה[12]. הסרטון הראשון שלו היה הדגמה של גוף קירור של Sunbeam למעבדים[13].

בגלל עלויות גבוהות וכמות צפיות נמוכה בימיו הראשונים של הערוץ, הונחה סבסטיאן ליצור את ערוץ "Linus Tech Tips" כדי לאפשר לו ליצור סרטונים זולים מבלי להשפיע על המותג NCIX. ‏Linus Tech Tips נוצר ב־24 בנובמבר 2008[14].

סבסטיאן לא יצר סרטונים במשרה מלאה ב- NCIX. בתקופת שהותו בחברה עבד כנציג מכירות וכמנהל מוצר במשרה מלאה[15][16]. הוא סיפר כי עזב את החברה בגלל ויכוחים שהיו לו עם מנכ"ל החברה, הוא קנה את הערוץ Linus Tech Tips מNCIX בדולר והסכים לתנאים הבאים: לא להתחרות בNCIX, להמשיך להנחות את ערוץ היוטיוב שלהם בזול ולא להעסיק שום עובד שהיה בNCIX[17].

Linus Media Group

סבסטיאן הקים את Linus Media Group בינואר 2013, עם לוק לפרניאר, אדזל יאגו וברנדון לי[18]. הקבוצה פיתחה את ערוץ "Linus Tech Tips" כמיזם עצמאי.

סרטונים בולטים

"7 Gamers 1 CPU" ‏(2016)

ב־2 בינואר 2016, "Linus Tech Tips" העלו סרטון המדגים מחשב המסוגל לתמוך בשבעה משתמשים בבת אחת, בעלות כוללת משוערת של 30,000 דולר[19][20]. הסרטון הועלה למספר אתרי חדשות העוסקים בטכנולוגיה[21][22][23], וצבר למעלה ממיליון צפיות ביום העלאתו[24]. שני סרטוני וידאו נוספים, הכוללים את תוצאות ביצועי המחשב, פורסמו לפני פירוק המחשב במהלך שידור חי בחודש שלאחר מכן.

ב־22 במאי 2016 Linus Tech Tips העלו פרויקט המשך, ובו הראו מערכת שאפשרה לשמונה משתמשים לשחק בו זמנית משחקים, והציגה שיפורים נוספים בין היתר[25].

תקרית הiMac Pro ‏(2018)

באפריל 2018 הועלה בערוץ היוטיוב "Linus Tech Tips" סרטון שטוען כי אפל סירבה לתקן את ה-iMac Pro שלהם (תיקון בתשלום שאינו באחריות) לאחר שהם העלו סרטון פירוק של המוצר[26], מעשה שעלול להיות לא חוקי[27].

קניית מחשבים בעזרת אדם אנונימי (2018)

בדצמבר 2018 "Linus Tech Tips" העלו סרטון ליוטיוב של סדרה בת ארבעה חלקים המפרטת את חווית רכישת מחשב המשחקים מ6 חברות עיקריות כדי לראות מה יציעו ללקוח הממוצע. החוויות היו מגוונות[28]. הסדרה זכתה ליותר מ-12 מיליון צפיות והיא סוקרה במגזין PC Gamer[29]. ב-2020 יצאה עוד סדרה של סרטונים כאלו בארבעה חלקים.
