המוביל המלוח

המוביל המלוח הוא מפעל מים המוביל מים מלוחים מחופי הכנרת בצפון ומערב אל הירדן מדרום לכנרת, במטרה להוריד את רמת המליחות של מי הכנרת.

היסטוריה ראשונה

המים הנכנסים מן הירדן לכנרת מכילים מעט מאוד כלור. אולם, קיימים מעיינות מלוחים בסביבת הכנרת, שהזרימו כמויות גדולות של מים מלוחים לכנרת. פרופ' אברהם דה ליאו מתה"ל הציע בשנת 1957 להקים תעלה שתטה את המים המלוחים לכיוון הירדן במוצא הכנרת, כדי להטות את מי המעיינות המלוחים מלהיכנס לכנרת ולמנוע המלחה מהירה של הכנרת[1]. אולם למרות התקדמות בהקמת המוביל הארצי, לא ננקטו צעדים ממשיים למניעות עליית מליחות מי הכנרת, בתקווה שגשמים שירדו יפתרו את הבעיה[2] והפעילות בעניין התרכזה במחקר[3] ואיתור מעיינות מלוחים[4], תוך שתוכנית התעלה להטיית המים נשארה על המדף[5]. בשנת 1961 נבדקה האפשרות להתפיל חלק ממי המעיינות הנכנסים לכנרת[6].

במרץ 1962 עלתה הבעיה במלוא חריפותה כאשר בעקבות שנים מועטות גשמים הגיעה מליחות מי הכנרת לרמה שאינה מאפשרת שימוש בהם לחקלאות[7][8]. בספטמבר 1962 הוחלט לקדם את תוכנית המוביל המלוח[9] ובדצמבר 1962 אישרה הממשלה תקציב להקמת המוביל המלוח[10]. באביב 1963 הוחל בחפירת התעלה[11]. העבודות דרשו רכישת קרקעות או הפקעתן לאורך הכנרת[12][13].

חפירת התעלה לוותה בחוליה צמודה של ארכאולוגים שפעלו עם החופרים[14][15] ומפקחים של משרד הדתות למניעת חילול קברים[16]. בטבריה הוקם בסוף שנת 1963 מפעל מיוחד לאספקת בטון לעבודות המוביל המלוח[17].

מבנה

המעיינות המלוחים שעל חוף הכנרת מרוכזים בשלושה מקורות ראשיים: נור שמצפון לטבח'ה, פולייה שמצפון לטבריה ומעיינות חמי טבריה[18]. המים המלוחים מנקודות אלו מוטים אל תעלה שנבנתה לאורך חוף הכנרת ומועברים אל הירדן בקטע הנהר שמדרום לצמח, היורד לים המלח. אורכו של ה"מוביל המלוח" 22 ק"מ, והוא עובר במקביל לחוף המערבי של הכנרת, ממעיינות נור (טבחה) ועד דרומית לשפך הכנרת לירדן, מדרום לסכר אלומות.

בשנים האחרונות החלו פעולות לכיסויו.

יעילות

בשנים הראשונות לאחר הפעלת המוביל המלוח ירדה מליחות המים בכנרת בצורה משמעותית וחלק מהחוקרים מנו את פתיחת המוביל המלוח כסיבה לירידה[19].

מהפעלת המוביל המלוח ועד סוף שנות ה-80 של המאה ה-20 תרם המוביל המלוח להורדת המליחות של הכנרת מ-367 מ״ג לליטר ל-212. אולם במהלך שנות ה-90, עלתה רמת המליחות עקב תחזוקה לקויה של המוביל המלוח והגברת השימוש בו להובלת מי קולחין[20].

שימוש

בנוסף למטרתו המקורית, שימש המוביל המלוח להובלת מי קולחין של יישובים לאורך הכנרת[21]. בשלב הראשון נקלטו שפכי טבריה, גינוסר ואתרי הנופש הנמצאים לאורך החוף המערבי. במהלך השנים נוספו השפכים של צפת ומגדל. בנוסף מוביל המוביל המלוח מי שיטפונות.
