דקסטר: דם חדש (באנגלית: Dexter: New Blood) היא מיני-סדרת דרמת פשע-מתח אמריקאית, שמשמשת כתחייה (אנ') של הסדרה "דקסטר", שמתרחשת כעשור לאחר אירועי פרק סיום העונה השמינית, ששודר בשנת 2013.

המיני-סדרה עלתה לשידור ברשת Showtime האמריקאית ב-7 בנובמבר 2021, ופרקה העשירי והאחרון שודר ב-9 בינואר 2022.[1] בישראל, המיני-סדרה שודרה ב-yes מ-8 בנובמבר 2021;[2] כשב-yes VOD פרקי הסדרה עלו בצמוד לשידור בארצות הברית.

סדרה "דקסטר: התחייה" מהווה המשך של סדרה זו.

תקציר העלילה

כעשור לאחר אירועי סיום הסדרה המקורית, בה דקסטר מורגן (אנ') ביים את מותו, עבר לעיירה קטנה איירון לייק, ניו יורק, שם חי תחת זהותו החדשה כג'ים לינדזי, מוכרן בחנות טיולים וצייד מקומית. במקביל, דקסטר פיתח מערכת יחסים עם אנג'לה בישופ, מפקדת המשטרה המקומית, ודיכא את הדחף שלו להרג סדרתי; אך כשמתחילות שורה של תקריות מוזרות סביב איירון לייק, דקסטר מתחיל לחשוש ש"הנוסע האפל" שבתוכו יתעורר מחדש.[3][4]

על פי השחקן מייקל סי הול, סיום הסדרה של "דקסטר", בו דקסטר נמלט ממיאמי תוך ביום מותו ומסתתר כחוטב עצים באורגון, ספג ביקורות מקוטבות מצד מעריצי הסדרה. סי הול אמר על כך: "אני חושב שהסוף היה 'לא-מספק' במקרה הטוב עבור האנשים. 'מבלבל', 'מרגיז', 'מתסכל' – בשורה של תארים שליליים."[3] בשמונה השנים שחלפו מאז שידור פרק הסיום, הול נשאל על ידי המעריצים אם הסדרה תזכה להמשך. מפיק הסדרה המקורי, קלייד פיליפס, שעזב את הסדרה לאחר העונה הרביעית, ראה את השאלות שהול נשאל ועם הזמן דן איתו על דרכים אפשריות להפיק המשך עבור הסדרה כסוג של גאולה עצמית, אך לא הצליח לחשוב על דרך מתאימה לביצוע הרעיון. ב-1 ביולי 2019, נשיא רשת "Showtime", גארי לוין, יצר קשר עם פיליפס, ואמר לו כי הוא מרגיש שהגיע הזמן להחזיר את דקסטר ושאל אותו אם יוכל לחשוב על רעיון מקורי. פיליפס כתב תסריט ראשוני, אותו שיתף לאחר מכן עם הול, שאהב את הרעיון העלילתי.[3]

פיליפס זיהה שסוף הסדרה התאים לתקופה בה הוא שודר, שכן בסביבות שנת 2013, מספר רוצחים סדרתיים אמיתיים התגוררו באורגון ובמדינות הסמוכות לה. פיליפס גם חשב כי כשהקיף את עצמו במסורי שרשרת, דקסטר היה תחת תזכורת מתמדת כיצד מתה אמו. מכיוון שפיליפס לא היה בטוח לגבי התחושה אותה סיום הסדרה נועד להעביר, הוא החליט לשלב בעלילת המיני-סדרה קפיצת זמן משמעותית, כמעט עשור מסיום אירועי הסדרה המקורית; בעוד דקסטר עדיין עוסק בחטיבת עצים, הוא עבר מאז לעיירה הבדיונית איירון לייק, ניו יורק.[3] מסיבה זו, פיליפס לא ראה את המיני-סדרה כעונה תשיעית, מאחר שהייתה אי-המשכיות רצינית בסיפור העלילה.[3] כאשר צוות התסריטאים כתב את המיני-סדרה בת עשרת הפרקים, הם קבעו כיצד המיני-סדרה תסתיים וכתבו את ההתרחשויות שהובילו לסיומה לאחור. פיליפס טען כי "סיומה של המיני-סדרה תהיה מהממת, מזעזעת, מפתיעה, בלתי צפויה. ובלי לחשוף כלום, אגיד שסיומה של העונה החדשה הזו שאנו מפיקים יפוצץ את האינטרנט."[3]

ב-14 באוקטובר 2020 הוזמנה תחייתו של "דקסטר" כמיני-סדרה בת 10 פרקים, בכיכובו של הול, ועם שובו של פיליפס כמפיק בפועל.[5] ב-17 בנובמבר 2020 נודע כי שישה מפרקי המיני-סדרה יבוימו על ידי מרקוס סיגה, שישמש אף כמפיק בפועל לצדם של הול, ג'ון גולדווין, שרה קולטון, ביל קאררו וסקוט ריינולדס.[6] בהמשך נחשף כי המיני-סדרה עתידה לעלות לשידור ב-7 בנובמבר 2021.[5]

ליהוק

בינואר 2021, נמסר על ליהוקם של קלנסי בראון, ג'וליה ג'ונס, אלאנו מילר, ג'וני סקויה, ג'ק אלקוט ודייוויד מגידוף לצוות השחקנים הראשי.[7][8][9] ב-11 בפברואר 2021 נמסר על ליהוקם של ג'יימי צ'ונג ואוסקר וולברג לצוות השחקנים המשני.[10] ב-28 ביוני 2021, פורסם כי ג'ון לית'גו ישוב לגלם את דמותו של ארתור מיטשל, הרוצח השילוש, בהופעת קמע,[11] וב-13 ביולי 2021, נודע כי ג'ניפר קרפנטר תשוב לגלם את דמותה של אחותו של דקסטר, דברה מורגן, בהופעת אורח במהלך המיני-סדרה.[12]

צילומים

צילומי המיני-סדרה החלו בפברואר 2021, כאשר רובה צולמה בעיירת שלברן פולס, מסצ'וסטס, ששימשה כסט עבור העיירה הבדיונית איירון לייק.[3] צילומי החוץ היו חייבים להיות מתואמים סביב מזג האוויר, מכיוון שיוצרי המיני-סדרה רצו להציג כמה שיותר שלג ומזג אוויר חורפי במהלך העלילה, כולל סצנות בהם מופיע אגם קפוא מקומי. צילומי הפנים החלו בסביבות יולי 2021 למשך חמישים יום.[3][13]
