ג'ון ארתור דאטין (באנגלית: John Arthur Duttine; נולד ב-15 במרץ 1949) הוא שחקן תיאטרון, קולנוע וטלוויזיה אנגלי.[1] הוא מוכר מתפקידו כסמל ג'ורג' מילר בסדרת הדרמה המשטרתית "Heartbeat".

ביוגרפיה

דאטין נולד בברנסלי שבמערב רידינג של יורקשייר.[2] פריצת הדרך בקריירה שלו הייתה בשנת 1977 כשגילם את יוחנן השליח במיני-סדרה "ישו מנצרת". בעקבות תפקיד זה שיחק במחזה "Spend, Spend, Spend" מאת ג'ון גולדשמידט בתפקיד קית' ניקולסון בעלה של זוכת הפרס הגדול בטוטו. ב-1978 כיכב בסדרת הדרמה ההיסטורית "The Devil's Crown" בתפקיד המלך ג'ון.

ב-1978 השתתף דאטין במיני-סדרה "אנקת גבהים", עיבוד של ה-BBC לרומן באותו שם מאת אמילי ברונטה, וגילם את דמותו של הינדלי ארנשו. ב-1980 זכה להכרה רחבה כששיחק בתפקיד הראשי בסדרת הדרמה "To Serve Them All My Days" כמורה ואחר כך מנהל בפנימייה לבנים בתקופה שלאחר מלחמת העולם הראשונה. על תפקידו זה זכה דאטין בפרס "TV Times" לשחקן הטוב ביותר. ב-1981 זכה לשבחים על הופעתו בסדרה "יומו של השלוש-רגל" על פי ספר באותו שם מאת ג'ון וינדהם. ב-1983 שיחק בסדרת הטלוויזיה "The Outsider". ב-1984 הופיע בסיטקום "ברווזים צולעים". ב-1994 ו-1995 שיחק בסדרה הקומית "Ain't Misbehavin". הוא הופיע לצדו של סר לורנס אוליבייה במחזה "Saturday, Sunday, Monday", חלק מסדרת הטלוויזיה "לורנס אוליבייה מגיש". דאטין הופיע לצדה של אשתו מל מרטין בסרט הטלוויזיה "Talking to Strange Men" על פי ספר של רות רנדל, בסדרה הרפואית "חדר מיון" ובסדרה "Heartbeat".

בקולנוע השתתף דאטין בסרט "Who Dares Wins" (מ-1982) ובסרט "הוק" (אנ') (מ-1993). תפקידים נוספים שלו בטלוויזיה היו בסדרות "דוק מרטין", "Touching Evil", "טגארט", "דיינג'רפילד", "רציחות במידסומר", "Peak Practice", "חדר מיון", "The Bill", "איסטאנדרס", "דיאל ופסקו", "ג'יין הול" והסדרה "Heartbeat". ב-2007 כיכב בתפקיד אורח בגרסת אודיו של סדרת המדע בדיוני "דוקטור הו" בפרק "Exotron & Urban Myths". ב-2013 השתתף בסדרת הטלוויזיה "גן עדן לנשים" של ה-BBC.

ב-2016 הופיע דאטין בסדרה "האב בראון" בתפקיד ג'ורג' המונד.
