אנדרה לורן בנג'מין (באנגלית: André Lauren Benjamin; נולד ב-27 במאי 1975), הידוע בשם הבמה אנדרה 3000 (André 3000), הוא ראפר, זמר-יוצר, שחקן, מפיק מוזיקלי, רקדן ויזם אמריקאי. ידוע בעיקר כחבר הרכב ההיפ הופ אאוטקאסט, לצד הראפר אנטוואן "ביג בוי" פאטון.

ביוגרפיה

בנג'מין נולד באטלנטה, ג'ורג'יה. בנם היחיד של שרון בנג'מין-הודו (נפטרה ב-2013), אם חד הורית שמכרה נדל"ן, ולורנס הארווי ווקר (נפטר ב-2014), סוכן אוספים.[1][2][3] כשגדל באטלנטה, איסט פוינט ובוקהד, למד בנג'מין בבית הספר היסודי שרה סמית', חטיבת הביניים סאטון, בית הספר התיכון נורת'סייד ותיכון טרי-סיטיס.[4]

בנג'מין פגש את הראפר ביג בוי כשלמדו בתיכון.[5] השניים איחדו כוחות כהרכב ההיפ הופ אאוטקאסט בשנת 1992 וחתמו בחברת "לה-פייס רקורדס". בשנת 1994 הוציאו את אלבום הבכורה שלהם, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, שצבר פופולריות לאחר שהסינגל "Player's Ball" הגיע למקום הראשון במצעד שירי הראפ של הבילבורד. לאחר מכן, הוציא הצמד את האלבומים ATLiens בשנת 1996 ו-Aquemini בשנת 1998 ופיתח את הצליל שלו, התנסה במגוון סגנונות וזכה להצלחה מסחרית. בשנת 2000 הוציא הצמד את האלבום Stankonia, שכלל את הסינגלים "Ms. Jackson" ו-"B.O.B", והגיע למקום השני במצעד הבילבורד 200.[6][7] האלבום זכה בפרס גראמי לאלבום הראפ הטוב ביותר והשיר "Ms. Jackson" זכה בפרס גראמי לביצוע הראפ הטוב ביותר של צמד/להקה.

בשנת 2023 הוציא אל אלבום הבכורה שלו, New Blue Sun. הוא הגיע למקום ה-34 במצעד בילבורד 200.[11]

כשחקן, בנג'מין הופיע בכמה סרטים וסדרות טלוויזיה, בהם Families, המגן, בי קול, אקדח, מקצוען סוג ב', ארבעה אחים ובתפקיד הראשי בסרט "בקצב פראי" משנת 2006, ובתפקיד הראשי של ג'ימי הנדריקס בסרט All Is by My Side.

בנוסף למוזיקה ומשחק, הוא היה גם יזם ודוגל בזכויות בעלי חיים. באביב 2008 השיק קו בגדים בשם בנג'נמין ביקסבי.[12] הוא ידוע גם בעבדותו בסדרת האנימציה של ערוץ Cartoon Network,‏ Class of 3000, ששודרה בין השנים 2006–2008.

חיים אישיים

בשנת 1995 החל לנהל זוגיות עם הזמרת אריקה באדו ולשניים נולד בן. הזוג נפרד ב-1999.

בשנת 2004, לצד אליסיה סילברסטון, נבחר בנג'מין על ידי אנשים למען יחס מוסרי לבעלי חיים (PETA) לתואר "סלבריטאי הצמחונות הכי סקסי בעולם". בנג'מין היה טבעוני[13] במשך חמש עשרה שנים, אך בשנת 2014 ויתר על אורח חיים זה.[14]
