איך מוצאים את החברה הכי טובה? (באנגלית: How to Spot a Best Friend) הוא ספר ילדים מאת בי בירדסונג (Bea Birdsong) המיועד לגילאי 3-7.

הספר מלווה באיורים של לוסי פלמינג ומטרתו ללמד ילדים קטנים על חשיבות החברות, האדיבות והדדיות. 

רקע

בי בירדסונג, מחברת הספר, היא מורה לשעבר המאמינה בכוחם של ספרים לחנך ילדים ולעודד אותם. הספר נכתב מתוך רצון להעניק לילדים כלים חברתיים וללמד אותם על החשיבות של חברות אמת.[1] 

הספר יצא לאור באנגלית בהוצאת Rodale Kids בשנת 2021 ופורסם בעברית בשנת 2022 בהוצאת "תכלת". הוא תורגם מאנגלית על ידי דנה טל.

הספר הגיע למקום השני ברשימת הספרים האהובים ביותר על תלמידי ישראל בקטגוריית הספרים האהובים ביותר על תלמידי הגנים הבוגרים (5-6).[2]

תקציר העלילה 

הספר נפתח עם הכרזתה של ילדה קטנה בדרכה ליום הראשון בגן חובה: "היום אמצא את החברה הכי טובה שלי". אמה של הילדה משיבה לה בזהירות שהדבר עשוי לקחת זמן, אך הילדה בטוחה שהיא תצליח לזהות את החברה הכי טובה מיד. בהמשך, מתפתחת שיחה מעניינת בין הבת לאם על היכרויות חדשות ועל חברות אמת. הספר מציג סימנים המוכיחים לקוראים שהילדה מצאה את החברה הכי טובה שלה, כמו: כאשר חברה יושבת לידה בשעת סיפור, נותנת לה יד בחלקים המפחידים, מתחשבת בה, עוזרת לה ומגלה אמון ביכולותיה.[3][3]

איורים 

הספר מלווה באיורים צבעוניים המציגים מגוון של ילדים, עם משקפיים, בכיסא גלגלים ובצבעי עור שונים. הם תורמים להעברת המסרים של הכללה ושוויון.[4]

מסרים וערכים 

בלב הסיפור עומדים הערכים של אדיבות והדדיות. המסר המרכזי של הספר הוא שלהיות החברה הטובה ביותר חשוב לא פחות מאשר למצוא את החברה הטובה. הספר מזמין ילדים ומבוגרים כאחד לדו-שיח על משמעות החברות ועל הדרכים להיות חברים טובים יותר זה של זה.[5]

על הספר נכתב כי הוא מלא בקסם ומשדר אופטימיות, הוא מעודד ילדים קטנים למצוא חברויות חדשות ולהיות החברים הטובים ביותר זה של זה. הספר משלב עלילה מרתקת עם מסר חשוב וערכי - כדי למצוא את החברה הכי טובה, חשוב גם להיות החברה הכי טובה.[1] הספר מומלץ לילדים קטנים שמתחילים גן חדש וגם לילדים גדולים יותר. הוא מעודד אותם ומעניק להם ביטחון[3][3] לקראת מפגשים חברתיים וביצירת חברויות חדשות.[5] המבקרים מציינים שהספר מסביר בצורה בהירה איך מבדילים בין חברה רגילה לחברה הכי טובה, ומעודד את הילדים להיות חב-רותיים ופתוחים.[1]
