Microsoft Teams היא תוכנת תקשורת ארגונית המשלבת צ'אט, פגישות וידאו, אחסון קבצים (כולל עריכה משותפת של קבצים) ואינטגרציה בין יישומים. השימוש בתוכנה מתאפשר כחלק מחבילת אופיס 365 למנויי Office ארגוניים ומציג הרחבות שיכולות להשתלב גם במוצרים שאינם של מיקרוסופט. Teams מתחרה בתוכנות כמו Slack‏[2].‏ Teams החליף את שרות Skype for Business של מיקרוסופט, אליו קדם Microsoft Lync.

מיקרוסופט הכריזה על Teams באירוע בניו יורק, והשיקה את השירות ברחבי העולם ב-14 במרץ 2017[3][4]. נכון ל-2017 השירות מובל על ידי בריאן מקדונלד[5], סגן נשיא במיקרוסופט.

היסטוריה

ב-4 במרץ 2016 פורסמו ידיעות כי מיקרוסופט שקלה להציע 8 מיליארד דולר עבור Slack, אולם ביל גייטס היה נגד הרכישה, וקבע כי על החברה להתמקד במקום זאת בשיפור Skype for Business[6]. צ'י לו (אנ'), EVP של יישומים ושירותים, הוביל את הדחיפה לרכישת סלאק[6]. לאחר עזיבתו של לו בהמשך אותה שנה, מיקרוסופט הכריזה על Teams לציבור כמתחרה ישיר לסלאק ב-2 בנובמבר 2016[7][8].

בתגובה להכרזה, העלתה סלאק פרסומת בגודל עמוד שלם בניו יורק טיימס והודתה לשירות המתחרה. אף על פי שסלאק בשימוש בקרב 28 חברות ב-Fortune 100, מנהלי The Verge כתבו כי ישלמו עבור השירות אם Teams יספק פונקציה דומה במנוי אופיס 365 הקיים של החברה שלהם ללא עלות נוספת[9]. באתר ZDNet דווח כי החברות לא מתחרות על אותו קהל, מכיוון ש-Teams באותה תקופה לא איפשרו לחברות שאינן מנויות לאופיס להצטרף לפלטפורמה, ולא היה סביר שעסקים קטנים ופרילנסרים יחליפו[10]. מיקרוסופט הוסיפה מאז אפשרות זו[11]. בתגובה להודעת Teams, העמיקה סלאק את האינטגרציה של השירות שלה עם שירותי גוגל[12].

ב-3 במאי 2017 מיקרוסופט הודיעה כי Teams יחליף את Microsoft Classroom בחבילת החינוך של אופיס 365 (בעבר כונתה Office 365 for Education)[13]. ב-7 בספטמבר 2017, משתמשים החלו להבחין בהודעה שאמרה כי "Skype for Business הוא עכשיו Microsoft Teams"[14]. הידיעה אושרה ב־25 בספטמבר 2017, בכנס Ignite השנתי של מיקרוסופט[15].

ב-12 ביולי 2018, מיקרוסופט הודיעה על גרסה חינמית של צוותי מיקרוסופט, המציעה את מרבית אפשרויות התקשורת של הפלטפורמה ללא עלות אך מגבילה את מספר המשתמשים ואת מרחב אחסון הקבצים[16].

בינואר 2019 פרסמה מיקרוסופט עדכון המכוון ל"עובדים ראשוניים"במטרה לשפר את יכולת שיתופי הפעולה ב-Teams בין מחשבים שונים לעובדים קמעונאיים[17].

ב־19 בנובמבר 2019, מיקרוסופט הודיעה כי Teams הגיע ל-20 מיליון משתמשים פעילים. מדובר בעלייה מ-13 מיליון ביולי אותה שנה[18].

תכונות

Teams

Teams מאפשר לקהילות, קבוצות או צוותים להצטרף דרך כתובת URL או הזמנה ספציפית שנשלחה על ידי מנהל הצוות או הבעלים. Teams for Education מאפשר למנהלים ולמורים להקים צוותים לשיעורים, קהילות למידה מקצועיות (PLC) לאנשי צוות ולכולם[19].

ערוצים

בתוך צוות, חברי הצוות יכולים להקים ערוצים. ערוצים הם נושאי שיחה המאפשרים לחברי הצוות לתקשר ללא שימוש בדוא"ל או SMS קבוצתי. משתמשים יכולים לענות לפוסטים באמצעות טקסט, תמונות,GIF וmemes בהתאמה אישית.

הודעות ישירות מאפשרות למשתמשים לשלוח הודעות פרטיות למשתמש מסוים.

מחברים הם שירותי צד שלישי שיכולים לספק מידע לערוץ. המחברים כוללים MailChimp (אנ'), פייסבוק, טוויטר וחדשות בינג.

שיחות

Teams תומך ב-Public Switched Telephone Network המאפשרת למשתמשים להתקשר למספרי טלפון מתוכנת הלקוח.

פגישות

ניתן לתאם פגישות או ליצור אותן אד הוק והמשתמשים בערוץ יוכלו לראות את הפגישה באותו רגע. ל-Teams יש גם תוסף ל-Microsoft Outlook שמזמין אחרים לישיבות ב-Teams[20].

חינוך

צוותי מיקרוסופט מאפשרים למורים להפיץ, לספק משוב ולדרג מטלות תלמידים שהופנו באמצעות צוותים באמצעות הכרטיסייה 'משימות', העומדת לרשות המנויים של Office 365 for Education[21]. ניתן להקצות חידונים לסטודנטים באמצעות שילוב עם טפסים של Office[22].

נכון לספטמבר 2019, Microsoft Teams זמין כחלק מהפלטפורמות הבאות:

  • Windows ו-MacOS: כלול באופיס 365 או זמין בחינם
  • iOS: אפליקציה ב-App Store[23].
  • אנדרואיד: אפליקציה זמינה ב-Google Play[24].
  • Web: ללקוחות ווב של Teams, הנתמך בדפדפני אינטרנט שולחניים נפוצים[25].
  • לינוקס: מאז דצמבר 2019 בתצוגה מקדימה[26]

פלטפורמות שנתמכו בעבר

  • Windows Phone: התמיכה הופסקה ביולי 2018, והשירות הפסיק לעבוד באוקטובר 2018[27].
  • Windows 10 Mobile: החל משנת 2019 השירות אמנם מופיע בחנות של מיקרוסופט, אך מסומן כ"לא זמין כרגע"[28].
