"I'm In Love With My Car" (בעברית: "אני מאוהב במכונית שלי") הוא שיר של להקת הרוק הבריטית קווין, שיצא באלבומם הרביעי A Night at the Opera בשנת 1975. זהו השיר היחיד באלבום שנכתב כולו על ידי מתופף הלהקה רוג'ר טיילור.

היסטוריה

טיילור ניגן בגיטרות בדמו המקורי, אך מאוחר יותר הן הוקלטו מחדש על ידי בריאן מיי בגיטרת ה-Red Special שלו בעוד שטיילור ניגן הן בגיטרות והן בתופים. השירה הראשית בשיר בוצעה על ידי טיילור בגרסת האולפן והכל גם שוחרר בהופעות החיות. צלילי התנעת המנוע בסיומו של השיר היו הקלטה של המכונית של טיילור אז, אלפא רומיאו. המילים נוצרו בהשראת אחד מהנהגים של הלהקה ג'ונתן האריס, שה-Triumph TR4 הייתה אהבת חייו. השיר הוקדש לג'ונתן, כשבהערות באלבום נכתב "מוקדש לג'ונתן האריס, ילד רכיבה עד הסוף". כשהגיעה העת להוציא את הסינגל הראשון באלבום, טיילור כל כך אהב את השיר שלו עד שהוא נעל את עצמו בארון מטבח עד שהוסכם שזה יהיה ה־b-side לסינגל הראשון מהאלבום "Bohemian Rhapsody". החלטה זו תהפוך מאוחר יותר לגורם לחיכוכים פנימיים רבים בלהקה, בכך שאמנם זה היה רק הבי-סייד, אך היא הניבה כמות שווה של תמלוגים לפרסום עבור טיילור כפי שהסינגל הראשי עשה זאת עבור פרדי מרקיורי פשוט משום שזה היה הבי-סייד ל-"Bohemian Rhapsody". השיר בוצע לעיתים קרובות בהופעות החיות של הלהקה בתקופה שבין 1977–1981. טיילור שר את השיר מהתופים שלו, בעוד שמרקיורי ניגן בפסנתר וסיפק קולות רקע. במהלך התור ל-News of the World מרקיורי היה שר את הפזמון ביחד עם טיילור. הכותרת לשיר שימשה כבדיחה ממושכת בסרט הביוגרפי של הלהקה "רפסודיה בוהמית", שהחל בוויכוח בין טיילור (בן הארדי) לבין בריאן מיי (גווילם לי) על התוכן הלירי של השיר. מאוחר יותר בסרט, המנהל הבדיוני של EMI ריי פוסטר (מייק מאיירס) מציע להוציא אותו או את "You're My Best Friend" כסינגל הראשון במקום "Bohemian Rhapsody". זמן קצר לאחר מכן, בתוכנית הרדיו של קני אוורט, מרקיורי מסר לו את הסינגל, ולאחר מכן הוא הקריא את "I'm In Love With My Car" ולא את "Bohemian Rhapsody", שלאחר מכן בוהמיין שודר בשידור הרדיו הנכון.
