קרב הבקעה

הבקעה היא טקטיקה צבאית שבה כוח תוקף מנסה לפרוץ קו חזית סדור, ועל פי רוב מבוצר, של הכוח המגן. על מנת להשיג מטרה זו, מרכז הצד התוקף, בדרך כלל, כוח גדול מול גזרה צרה יחסית של חזית הכוח המגן. לעיתים קורה כי קו הגנה, שעמד בהצלחה בפני מתקפות קודמות שנערכו מול גזרות רחבות שלו, נשבר בתוך זמן קצר יחסית תחת עוצמת המתקפה המרכזת עוצמות כוח אדם ואש חזקות.

בעת שהיחידות הראשונות של הכוח התוקף מצליחות לפרוץ את קו ההגנה, נוצר פעמים רבות תהליך של פאניקה בקרב הכוח המגן, אשר מביא לאפקט דומינו שבו קורס כל המערך ההגנתי.

בקרב התאורטיקנים הצבאיים מקובל כלל אצבע, שלפיו על מנת לאפשר הבקעה, אשר אינה נהנית מיתרון הפתעה או מיתרון איכותי של הצד התוקף בכוח אדם ובכוח אש, נדרש הכוח התוקף ליתרון כמותי ביחס של 3 ל-1 בכוח אדם ובכוח אש על הכוח המתגונן בגזרת קרב ההבקעה[1].
