נעמי נוֹביק (אנגלית: Naomi Novik; נולדה ב-30 באפריל 1973) היא סופרת פנטזיה אמריקאית ממוצא יהודי, זוכת פרס נבולה, פרס לוקוס ופרסים רבים נוספים, שהייתה אף מועמדת לפרס הוגו. מוכרת בעיקר בזכות סדרת ספרי הפנטזיה "טמרייר" בת תשעה ספרים ובזכות ספר הפנטזיה עקורה. ספרה הראשון, "דרקון הוד מלכותו", זכה בפרס קומפטון קרוק לשנת 2007[1][2].

קורות חיים

נוביק גדלה בלונג איילנד, בת לאב יהודי ממוצא ליטאי ולאם פולנייה קתולית. כבר מגיל צעיר התעניינה בקריאה: בגיל 6 קראה את שר הטבעות, ומאוחר יותר פיתחה חיבה לספריה של ג'יין אוסטן. למדה ספרות אנגלית באוניברסיטת בראון והיא בעלת תואר שני במדעי המחשב מאוניברסיטת קולומביה. השתתפה בעיצוב ובפיתוח משחק המחשב נוורווינטר נייטס (בהרחבה למשחק בשם Shadows of Undrentide) בטרם פנתה לעסוק בכתיבה[3]. מתגוררת בניו יורק עם צ'ארלס ארדאי בעלה ולהם בת אחת, אווידנס.

נוביק היא חברה בדימוס ב-Organization for Transformative Works, ארגון שלא למטרות רווח המוקדש לקידום מדיות-חובבים, כגון ספרות חובבים, אמנות חובבים ועוד. הארגון החל את פעילותו בשנת 2007.[4] בעקבות פעילותה בנושא זה, היא יסדה יחד עם פרנצ'סקה קופה ורבקה טושנט את אתר ספרות החובבים, Archive of Our Own.

קריירת הכתיבה שלה

ספרה הראשון של נוביק, דרקון הוד מלכותו, הראשון בסדרת טמרייר, הוא היסטוריה חלופית לתקופת מלחמות נפוליאון. בעולם זה חיים דרקונים ומשמשים את בני האדם ככלי טיס ומלחמה. הספר זכה בפרס קומפטון קרוק לשנת 2007 בקטגוריית הספר הטוב ביותר בקטגוריית מדע בדיוני ופנטזיה.

בספטמבר 2006, פיטר ג'קסון קנה את הזכויות עבור הסדרה.[5] סדרת הספרים יצאה גם בפורמט של ספר מוקלט.

בשנת 2007 זכתה נוביק בפרס לוקוס בקטגוריה "ספר הביכורים הטוב ביותר".[6]

בשנת 2011 נוביק פרסמה, יחד עם המאיירת ישאן לי (Yishan Li), את הרומן הגרפי "Will Supervillains Be on the Final?".[7]

ביוני 2015 רכשה חברת האחים וורנר את הזכויות לספר "עקורה", שראה אור באותה השנה. את הסרט תפיק אלן דג'נרס.[8]
