מרוץ 24 השעות של נורבורגרינג (בגרמנית: ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen) הוא מרוץ סיבולת למכוניות טורינג ולמכוניות GT המתקיים בנורבורגרינג החל משנת 1970.

במרוץ משתתפים למעלה מ-200 מכוניות ו-700 נהגים, וכיום המכוניות המתחרות במשך 24 שעות ישלימו מרחק של כ-4,000 ק"מ בקירוב לאחר שיקיפו את המסלול באורך 25 הק"מ כ-155 פעמים בממוצע. המרוץ נחשב לאחד מאירועי הספורט המוטורי הגדולים בעולם[1][2]. בשנת 2016 חזו במרוץ למעלה מ-200,000 צופים ביציעים[3].

היסטוריה

המרוץ נוסד בשנת 1970 בהשראת מרוץ 24 השעות של לה מאן ובמקור נועד לתת מענה לנהגים חובבנים הנוהגים במכוניות ייצור סדרתיות כחלופה למרוץ 1000 הק"מ של נורבורגרינג, המיועד לקבוצות מרוץ מקצועניות ולנהגים מקצוענים אשר חלקם נוהגים במכוניות אב טיפוס ייעודיות בקטגוריות בכירות. המרוץ מתקיים עם כיוון השעון במסלול באורך 25.378 ק"מ המהווה שילוב של מסלול הנורדשלייפה יחד עם מסלול הגרנד פרי של המתחם בו נערך בין היתר מרוץ הפורמולה 1.

כיום עדיין ישנם נהגים חובבנים המתחרים במרוץ עם מכוניתם הפרטית אולם בעשורים האחרונים החלה הנורמה של התארגנות קבוצות מרוץ תחת חסות מסחרית של חברות גדולות אשר התכנסו כדי לנצח את המרוץ עבור שותפיהן, ובנוסף החלו להשתתף במרוץ קבוצות מרוץ מקצועניות של מותגי רכב מובילים ונהגים מקצוענים. ייחודו של המרוץ הוא שבניגוד לתקנות המחמירות והנוקשות של אליפות העולם במרוצי סיבולת של הפדרציה הבינלאומית לרכב (FIA), תקנות ארגון ה-ADAC למרוץ 24 השעות של נורבורגרינג גמישות ולעיתים עממיות ומאפשרות כמעט לכל רכב בייצור סדרתי להשתתף במרוץ בתנאי שהוא תואם את תקנות הבטיחות.

כל מכונית המעוניינת להשתתף במרוץ משלמת דמי כניסה של כ-7,500 אירו, מתוכם 3,000 אירו משמשים כמקדמה עבור בנזין. נהגים המחזיקים ברישיון נהיגה בין-לאומי רשאים להשתתף במרוץ בתנאי שיעברו קורס חובה המתקיים בשבוע שלפני המרוץ. בכל מכונית חייבים לנהוג בין שניים לארבעה נהגים וכל נהג רשאי לנהוג במהלך המרוץ בשתי מכוניות שונות. כל רכב החל משנת הייצור 1996 רשאי להשתתף במרוץ כאשר באפשרות כלי רכב שיוצרו בין השנים 1990–1995 להגיש בקשה מיוחדת שאישורה תיבחן בנפרד. כלי הרכב המתחרים במרוץ מחולקים לקטגוריות נפרדות ומסווגים על פי נתונים דומים.

האירוע מתקיים מדי שנה בדרך כלל בחודש מאי או יוני ונמשך על פני יממה שלמה בין שבת לראשון. המרוץ זוכה לפופולריות רבה בגרמניה במהלכו מגיעים מאות אלפי צופים, רבים מהם מגיעים למתחם הכולל בתוכו כרי דשא גדולים ושטחים פתוחים נרחבים עם ציוד מחנאות כולל מחוללים חשמליים ניידים, מקימים אוהלים, עוסקים בפעילויות פנאי רבות כגון ברביקיו וכדומה, כאשר ההרגשה הכללית במקום במשך כל סוף השבוע היא של יריד לשם הנאה, דבר המדגיש את ייחודיות המרוץ.
