יחזקאל (חזי) שלח (2 ביוני 1934 – 4 במאי 2010) היה איש עסקים, כלכלן והיסטוריון ישראלי. בנוסף, היה חבר ויו"ר דירקטוריון במוסדות תרבות ויו"ר "ועדת שלח" לתקצוב תיאטראות בשנות ה-90; לדעת אנשי תרבות ומנהלי תיאטראות, המודל שבנה סייע להחייאת התחום[1].

ביוגרפיה

שלח נולד בארץ ישראל לאב יליד פולין ולאם ילידת לטביה. למד כלכלה ופילוסופיה באוניברסיטה העברית במסגרת העתודה האקדמית. למרות ייעודו ככלכלן, עם גיוסו לצה"ל התנדב לצנחנים. בצנחנים עבר מסלול הכשרה כלוחם וקורס מ"כים חי"ר. בהמשך עבר קורס קצינים. שנים אחר כך השתחרר לאחר ששימש כמ"פ בגדוד הנח"ל המוצנח[2]. בשירות המילואים שירת בעוצבת נשר, חטיבת צנחנים במילואים[3], והתקדם בתפקידי הפיקוד עד לדרגת אלוף-משנה. בין השאר השתתף כסמג"ד בלחימה על מוצבי אום כתף במלחמת ששת הימים כחלק מהכוח של צנחני המילואים שתקף את הארטילריה המצרית במתחם לאחר איגוף אנכי מוסק[4]. במלחמת יום הכיפורים לחם שלח כמפקד גדוד 471, גדוד צנחני מילואים[5]. שלח פיקד על גדודו בקרבות הבלימה והתקפת הנגד הישראלית ברמת הגולן וכן בקרב ההבקעה לסוריה[6], ובין היתר כבש עם גדודו את העיירה הסורית ח'ן ארנבה[7]. לאחר מכן פיקד שלח על גדודו בכיבוש החרמון הסורי[8][9]. גם במלחמת לבנון הראשונה שימש זמן קצר כמג"ד במילואים בחטיבת הצנחנים, למרות גילו המבוגר.

ב-1975 התמנה למנכ"ל כלל סחר לאחר מכן היה מנכ"ל אליהו חברה לביטוח ונשר מפעלי מלט ישראליים. בשנות ה-90 היה יו"ר מקורות וטבעול, וכיהן כדירקטור בחברות מנפאואר, יפאורה, המשביר המרכזי, הספרייה החדשה ועוד ויו"ר ועדת השקעות של קופות הגמל של בנק המזרחי[10]. ב-1971 היה גם בהתנדבות רע"ן כלכלה ברצועת עזה, במסגרת המנהל האזרחי.

במקביל לפעולתו כאיש עסקים הקפיד לשמור על קשר עם עולם התרבות והאמנות, בעיקר אמנויות הבמה. הוא כיהן כיו"ר הנהלת התזמורת הפילהרמונית הישראלית, כחבר הנהלת האופרה הישראלית החדשה, התזמורת הקאמרית הישראלית ותיאטרון גשר וכחבר דירקטוריון קרן תל אביב לספרות ולאמנות. היה גם מבקר המוזיקה של עיתון "העיר".

המלצותיו של שלח אומצו על ידי שרת התרבות דאז שולמית אלוני ומשמשות כמסגרת התקציבית לפיה פועל משרד התרבות מול התיאטראות[11].

כמו כן היה שלח היסטוריון חובב, וחיבר שלושה ספרים בנושאים היסטוריים שונים, ובהם מלחמות נפוליאון ומלחמת קרים[12].

חיים אישיים

בנו הוא העיתונאי וחבר הכנסת לשעבר, עפר שלח[13]. לאחר מותו, פורסם הספר "המדריך ליוליסס", המפרש את הרומן של ג'יימס ג'ויס, אשר כתבו במשותף.
