Vícar é un concello situado ao suroeste da provincia de Almería, na Comunidade Autónoma de Andalucía. Segundo datos do INE correspondentes ao ano 2009 conta con 22.853 habitantes e unha extensión de 64,1 quilómetros cadrados.

Posúe tres acuedutos de posible orixe romana que conforman o conxunto monumental do Barranco de Carcáuz. Tamén se acharon restos arqueolóxicos pertencentes á denominada cultura argárica.
