Trocar

Familia de trócares desbotables

Un trocar[1] é un dispositivo médico ou veterinario que consta dun punzón (que pode ser unha punta metálica ou afiada con ou sen láminas de plástico), unha cánula (esencialmente un tubo oco) e un selo. [2] [3] Os trócares colócanse a través do abdome durante a cirurxía laparoscópica. O trocar funciona como portal para a posterior colocación doutros instrumentos como pinzas, tesoiras, grampadoras, etc. Os trocares tamén permiten que o gas ou o fluído escape dos órganos do corpo.

Etimoloxía

A palabra trocar provén do francés trocart, derivado de trois-quarts (tres cuartos), de trois 'tres' e carre 'lado, face ou cara dun instrumento',[4] [5] rexistrado por primeira vez no Dictionnaire des Arts et des Sciences, 1694,[6] por Thomas Corneille, irmán menor de Pierneille (Pierre Corneille).

Variacións do termo

No dicionario da RAG non aparece "trocar" nesa acepción, pero si no bUSCatermos e no dicionario galego de termos médicos, con esa forma.[7] En galego reintegracionista e en lingua portuguesa os termos maioritarios son trocar e trocarte, en plural trocares ou trocartes, que ás veces por metátese derivou en trocater ou trocáter.[8] [9]

Historia

Trocar, c. 1850

Orixinalmente, os médicos usaban trocares para aliviar o aumento da presión dos fluídos (edema) ou dos gases (inchazo). As patentes dos trocares xurdiron a principios do século XIX, aínda que o seu uso posibelmente datase de miles de anos atrás. A mediados do século XIX, as cánulas de trocar tornáronse máis sofisticadas, como a invención do tubo Southey por Reginald Southey.[10]

  • Trocar de Curschman ou de Southey - Trocar empregado para a punción do edema subcutáneo
  • Trocar de Duchenne - Trocar que se utiliza para tomar mostras de tecido de partes profundas
  • Trocar de Durham - Trocar que se emprega para realizar unha traqueotomía rápida
  • Trocar explorador -  Trocar moi fino que se usa para puncións exploratorias
  • Trocar rectal - Trocar de perfil curvo co que se punciona a vexiga a través do recto [7]
