O requeté foi a organización paramilitar do carlismo. Fundouna Joan Maria Roma como unha organización xuvenil do carlismo en 1907 e tiña como voceiro a Lo Mestre Titas.

Historia

Baixo a dirección de Joaquín Llorens converteuse a partir de 1913 na organización paramilitar do carlismo seguindo o exemplo dos Camelots du Roi, mantivo escasa actividade nos anos da primeira guerra mundial, reactivouse en 1920 baixo a dirección de Juan Pérez Nájera e sobre todo tras a proclamación da Segunda República Española en Navarra, onde había uns 10.000 requetés organizados. En 1932 Enrique Varela fíxose cargo da xefatura dos requetés que estruturou militarmente, dende a unidade básica a patrulla que compuñan 5 boinas vermellas e un xefe, o requeté que formaba unha compañía de 246 homes e por último o terzo que estaba formado por tres compañías. Ricardo Rada fíxose cargo da organización en 1935 e en xullo de 1936 os requetés sumaban 30.000 homes. Durante a Guerra civil española os terzos de requetés tiveron unha actuación destacada, especialmente en Navarra e en menor medida no País Vasco. En total constituíronse 41 terzos: 10 compostos por navarros, 8 por vascos, 8 por casteláns, 7 por andaluces, 6 por aragoneses, 1 por asturiano e 1 por catalán. Calcúlanse que arredor de 60.000 requetés participaron na guerra e deles uns 6.000 morreron

Galicia

Durante a guerra civil en Galicia formáronse as seguintes compañías de requetés:

  • Compañía do Apóstolo Santiago, que formaban 200 homes procedentes de Santiago de Compostela.
  • Compañía de Requetés de Ourense, que formaban 123 homes procedentes de Ourense.
  • Compañía de Requetés de Pontevedra.
