Nicer, fillo de Clutoso ou na forma en latín Nicer Clutosi, foi un príncipe dos galaicos, fillo de Clutoso, que mandou sobre a tribo dos albións na Idade Antiga.

Historia

Estela de Nicer.

Tense constancia del polos restos epigráficos atopados en 1932 na desembocadura do río Eo, na Veiga, onde foi descuberta a Estela de Nicer, príncipe dos albións (princeps Albionum). A estela está exposta no Museo Arqueolóxico de Asturias, en Oviedo.

A inscrición da estela é a seguinte:

«XP NICER CLUTOSI Ɔ CARIACA PRINCIPIS ALBIONUM AN LXXV HIC S EST»
(Nicer, [fillo] de Clutoso [do castro] de Cariaca, [da casa] do príncipe dos Albións, de 75 anos, xace aquí).

Cultura

Apoiando militarmente a estes soberanos, é posible que cada tribo galaica contase cun grupo de nobres e guerreiros que proporcionaban protección á tribo e nos que probablemente recaía a administración local de cada castro dentro da tribo. O seu status social ao igual que os soberanos, amosábase non só no poder político ou adquisitivo das súas pertenzas, senón no uso de determinados obxectos simbólicos intimamente vinculados ás clases altas da aristocracia, como eran o torque.

Localización

O territorio da tribo dos albións estaba comprendido dentro do Convento lucense, que se situarían no territorio costeiro comprendido nas marxes do río Navia, no que na actualidade é a Asturias occidental.
