Jesús Souto Vilas, nado en Campo (Arzúa) o 6 de maio de 1898[1] e finado en Santiago de Compostela o 1 de novembro de 1977, foi un mestre e político galego.

Traxectoria

Fillo de Francisco Souto Eirín e Generosa Vilas Filloy. Licenciado en Filosofía e letras pola Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. Foi mestre de San Martiño de Calvos de Sobrecamiño (Arzúa) en 1934.[2] Co golpe de Estado do 18 de xullo de 1936 foi nomeado delegado civil de Arzúa en agosto, tomando posesión o 10 de setembro. Foi destituído polo gobernador civil en outubro de 1936.[3] En 1938 publicou o folleto Hacia una solución hispánica de los problemas sociales la actual organización económica no responde a las necesidades de nuestro tiempo: GENS, esbozo de unas bases para la constitución de las Grandes Empresas Nacional-Sindicalistas.[4] Colaborou en El Compostelano. En 1963 trasladouse á escola de Santiago de Compostela. Finou en Santiago de Compostela o 1 de novembro de 1977.[5]

Vida persoal

Casou en Santiago de Compostela con Antonia Souto Sáinz en 1927,[6] e foi pai de Jesús Antonio, Ana María, Alfonso, Beatriz, Purificación, María Berta, María Luisa, José Lino, María del Carmen, María de los Ángeles, Francisco e Nina Souto Souto.
