María Antonia Santos Plata, nada en Cincelada, departamento de Santander, 10 de abril de 1782 e finada en El Socorro o 28 de xullo de 1819,[1] foi unha das heroínas da independencia de Colombia. Considerada unha das mulleres máis representativas da loita pola independencia xunto con Policarpa Salavarrieta e Manuelita Sáenz, Antonia Santos uniuse á causa do independentista venezolano Simón Bolívar. Creou a guerrilla de Coromoro e Cincelada, a primeira que se formou na provincia do Socorro para loitar contra a invasión española e o seu irmán Fernando Santos Plata converteuse nun dos líderes desta guerrilla. Este grupo interceptou as comunicacións das tropas realistas, subministrou e mantivo informada ás forzas rebeldes e xogou un papel importante durante as batallas dos pantanos de Vargas e Boyacá.

Traizoada por un dos seus amigos, Antonia Santos foi arrestada e levada ó cárcere do correxemento de Cincelada, que no presente leva o seu nome como homenaxe. Foi executada posteriormente o 28 de xullo de 1819, acusada de lesa maxestade. Na honra das súas accións heroicas, o batallón ASPC nº7 da sétima brigada da cuarta división do Exército Nacional de Colombia leva o nome de Antonia Santos. Entre os seus descendentes están Eduardo Santos Montejo e Juan Manuel Santos, que foron respectivamente presidentes de Colombia en 1938 e en 2010.
