Aix-les-Bains ( Ës en francoprovenzal) é un concello do departamento de Savoia, na rexión Ródano-Alpes, Francia, situado na costa sueste do lago de Bourget.

Historia

A cidade foi unha vila termal fundada polos romanos no ano 23 a.C., despois do ano 383 recibiu o nome de Aquae Gratianae para lembrar ao emperador Graciano, asasinado preto da vila. Aínda sobreviven numerosas edificacións da época romana, como as termas antigas e o arco romano de Campanus.

En 1816 estivo na vila (que por entón recibía o nome de Aix-en-Savoie) o escritor Alphonse de Lamartine, que escribiu aquí o seu célebre poema Le lac.

A economía da cidade depende case enteiramente do turismo.

Administración

O seu alcalde (2014) é Dominique Dord, da Unión por un Movemento Popular[1].
