Abre los ojos é un filme español do ano 1997, dirixido por Alejandro Amenábar. Protagonizado por Eduardo Noriega, Penélope Cruz e Najwa Nimri, o filme conta coa colaboración dos actores de orixe galega Chete Lera, José Ángel Egido e Tristán Ulloa.

Sinopse

César (Eduardo Noriega) é un mozo guapo e rico ó que lle gustan moito as mulleres pero moi pouco o compromiso. Con todo na festa do seu aniversario namórase de Sofía (Penélope Cruz), a acompañante do seu mellor amigo. Nuria (Najwa Nimri), unha antiga amante de César, movida polos celos provoca un accidente de coche no que ela falece e César queda completamente desfigurado. A partir dese momento a súa vida cambia por completo, converténdose nun horrible pesadelo.

No ano 2001 rodouse en Estados Unidos Vanilla Sky, un remake en inglés de Abre los ojos, no que Penélope Cruz volveu interpretar o papel de Sofía.

Alejandro Amenábar negou calquera influencia da película coa novela de ciencia ficción Ubik (1969), de Philip K. Dick, coa que garda algunhas similitudes.
