Rudolf von Bünau (19 août 1890 à Stuttgart – 14 janvier 1962 à Kirchheim unter Teck) est un General der Infanterie allemand qui a servi dans la Heer au sein de la Wehrmacht pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Il a été récipiendaire de la croix de chevalier de la croix de fer avec feuilles de chêne. La croix de chevalier de la croix de fer et son grade supérieur, les feuilles de chêne, sont attribués pour récompenser un acte d'une extrême bravoure sur le champ de bataille ou un commandement militaire avec succès.

Rudolf von Bünau est capturé par les forces américaines en mai 1945, et reste en captivité jusqu'en avril 1947.

Son fils, aussi nommé Rudolf von Bünau, est décoré de la croix de chevalier de la croix de fer le 8 août 1943 en tant que Hauptmann et commandant du Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 9 (9^e groupe de reconnaissance blindé). Il est tué au combat juste une semaine après, le 15 août 1943 au sud de Roslavl et promu à titre posthume Major. Son autre fils, l'Oberleutnant Günther von Bünau, décoré de la croix allemande en or, est lui aussi tué au combat en 1943.
