La saison 1992-1993 de l'Extraliga est la dernière édition du Championnat de Tchécoslovaquie de hockey sur glace[1].

Saison régulière

Quatorze équipes prennent part au championnat 1992-1993, la dernière saison du championnat de Tchécoslovaquie ; en effet, le 1er janvier 1993 le pays est divisé en deux : la République tchèque et la Slovaquie. Les quatre meilleures équipes de la saison sont directement qualifiées pour les quarts-de-finale alors que les huit équipes suivantes jouent un premier tour. Chaque équipe joue 40 rencontres au cours de la saison régulière, certaines équipes se rencontrant une fois et d'autres deux fois. Litvínov et l'équipe de Prague finissent avec 53 points aux deux premières places du classement, Litvínov étant classé premier avec trois victoires de plus. Trenčín et Vítkovice sont les deux autres qualifiées directement pour les quarts-de-finale. À l'autre bout du classement, le HC Škoda Plzeň finit dernier avec seulement 12 victoires [2]

Žigmund Pálffy, l'ailier droit du Dukla Trenčín qui joue sa deuxième saison en senior, finit meilleur pointeur de la saison avec un total de 49 points. Ivo Čapek, gardien du Sparta, est désigné meilleur gardien alors que Miloš Holaň, défenseur de Vítkovice, reçoit le titre de meilleur défenseur et celui de meilleur joueur des séries. Il remporte également la Crosse d'Or du meilleur joueur tchécoslovaque[1]
