Yoshi’s Island DS on Nintendo DS -käsikonsolille julkaistu tasohyppelypeli. Yoshi’s Island DS on täysiverinen jatko-osa SNES:in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island -pelille. Pelin ominaisuuksiin kuuluu mm. uusia hahmoja sekä kahden ruudun hyödyntäminen.

Tarina

Salaperäinen ilmassa leijuva saari on yhtäkkiä ilmestynyt rauhallisen Yoshin saaren ylle. Pian sen saapumisen jälkeen kourallinen lapsia katosi saarella sijaitsevasta koulusta. Ainoastaan Baby Mario, Baby Peach, Baby Bowser, Baby Wario ja Baby Donkey Kong onnistuivat välttämään kidnappauksen, kun haikara lentää Kamekin apulaista päin ja Baby Mario ja Baby Peach putoavat häneltä. Nyt Yoshin ja näiden viiden vauvan tulee pelastaa kadonneet lapset ja tutkia salaperäistä leijuvaa saarta.

Ominaisuudet

  • Yoshilla on samanlaiset liikkeet kuin ensimmäisessä Yoshi’s Islandissa. Myös pelin visuaalinen ilme on pysynyt miltei samanlaisena, tosin sitä on hieman päivitetty yksinkertaisempaan suuntaan.
  • Yosheja on eri värisiä
  • Jokaisella vauvalla on aina oma erikoisliikkeensä.
  • Kahta ruutua käytetään samaan tapaan kuin Sonic Rushissa.
