Titus Hjelm (s. 15. lokakuuta 1974 Helsinki)[1] on suomalainen uskontotieteilijä ja muusikko. Hänet tunnetaan erityisesti saatananpalvontaa koskevista tutkimuksistaan. Hjelmin uskontotieteen väitöskirja Saatananpalvonta, media ja suomalainen yhteiskunta tarkastettiin Helsingin yliopiston teologisessa tiedekunnassa 2005. Hjelm soittaa bassoa power metal -yhtye Thunderstonessa.

Elämä ja ura

Hjelm kirjoitti ylioppilaaksi Sibelius-lukiosta 1993 ja valmistui teologian maisteriksi 1999 uskontotiede pääaineenaan. Hjelm on työskenteli Sibelius-lukiossa uskonnon ja elämänkatsomustiedon opettajana 1997–2002.[2][3]

Hjelm työskenteli University College Londonissa sosiologian lehtorina 2007–2018.[4][5] Vuonna 2018 Hjelm aloitti Helsingin yliopiston uskontotieteen apulaisprofessorina.[6] Tammikuusta 2022 alkaen Hjelm on toiminut uskontotieteen professorina.[7]

Hjelm on soittanut Thunderstonen lisäksi muun muassa Antidote-yhtyeessä.
