Suminoe-ku (jap. 住之江区) on yksi Osakan kaupungin 24:stä suuralueesta. Se sijaitsee kaupungin lounaisosassa Osakanlahden rannalla ja käsittää suuren osan Osakan satama-alueesta. Etelässä se rajautuu Yamatojokeen ja sen takana Sakain kaupunkiin, idässä sijaitsee Sumiyoshin suuralue, pohjoisessa taas Nishinarin suuralue ja Kizujoen takana Taishōn suuralue.[2] Suminoen pinta-ala on 20,77 neliökilometriä ja siellä on 127 484 asukasta (vuonna 2010).[1]

Suminoen suuralue on perustettu 22. heinäkuuta 1974. Sen itäosa on tiheään rakennettua asuin- ja liikealuetta, joka liittyy saumattomasti muuhun kaupunkirakenteeseen, keskiosassa on taas teollisuutta. Perinteisesti alueella toimi erityisesti raskasta teollisuutta, kuten laivanrakennus- ja metalliteollisuuden laitoksia, mutta ne ovat väistyneet kevyemmän teollisuuden, kuten puunjalostuksen tieltä. Länsiosan satama-aluetta saarineen on kehitetty asuin-, kauppa- ja viihdekäyttöön, mutta siellä toimii edelleen Nankō-satama, yksi Japanin suurimmista kauppasatamista.[2]

Suminoen kehitykselle merkittäviä olivat historiallinen Kishū-kaidō-tie ja alueen läpi rakennetut rautatie- ja raitiolinjat. Uudempia urbaaneja keskuksia ovat vuorostaan Shinkitajiman alue, jossa Osakan metrosta on vaihtoyhteys Nankō Port Town -automaattimetrolinjaan, ja satama-alueen Nankō Port Town -kaupunginosa, jossa on noin 30 000 asukasta. Sen luoteispuolella meren rannalla on suuri talous- ja kulttuurikeskus Cosmo Square, jonne on rakennettu muun muassa messukeskus Intex Osaka, Asia-Pacific Trade Centre -kompleksi ja Osakan World Trade Centre.[2]

Suminoen suuraluetta palvelevat Osakan metron Chūō-linja ja Yotsubashi-linja, Nankō Port Town -automaattimetrolinja, Nankai-rautateiden Nankai-päälinja ja Hankai-raitioteiden Hankai-linja (suuralueen itärajalla).
