Raholan Pyrkivä (lyh. RaPy) on vuonna 1946 perustettu länsitamperelainen urheiluseura. Nykyisin se toimii koripallon erikoisseurana.[1]

Historia

Koripallo

Pyrkivän koripallon naisten edustusjoukkue pelasi 1980-luvulla neljä kautta Suomen ylimmällä sarjatasolla. Parhaimmillaan joukkue sijoittui runkosarjassa kolme kertaa yhdeksänneksi.[2]

Vuosina 1996–2005 RaPy:n ja Tampereen Pyrinnön koripallon yhteinen, Pyrbasket-niminen edustusjoukkue pelasi miesten pääsarjassa saavuttaen vuonna 2000 Suomen cupin hopeaa ja kaudella 2000–2001 SM-hopeaa. Nykyisin seurat järjestävät yhteistyössä jokavuotisen Delfin Basket -turnauksen. Pyrkivän kasvatteja ovat muun muassa Timo Harju, Alex Vaenerberg, Ville Korhonen ja Jussi Korhonen. Kaudesta 2014–2015 lähtien Pyrkivä on pelannut valtakunnallisessa I-divisioona B:ssä.[3]

Muut lajit

Aikaisemmin voimistelun ja urheilun yleisseurana toimineen RaPy:n lajivalikoimaan kuului muun muassa jalkapallo, jossa se osallistui vuoden 1963 Suomen cupiin ja jääkiekko, jossa se voitti TUL:n mestaruuden vuonna 1965.[4] Jalkapalloilija Ari Hjelm pelasi lapsena Pyrkivässä jonkin aikaa.

Areena

Pyrkivän kotiareenana on toiminut kesästä 2016, seuran 70-vuotisjuhlavuodesta, eteenpäin Tesoman kaupunginosaan valmistunut Tesoman palloiluhalli, johon Pyrkivän toiminta keskitettiin. Halliin asennettiin 400 kiinteää katsomopaikkaa, mutta siirtokatsomoiden avulla kapasiteetti nousee 850 katsojaan, ja tulevaisuudessa kapasiteettia on mahdollisuus kasvattaa 1 250 katsojaan.[5][6][7][8][9][10]
