Monna Kamu

Monna Sylvia Kamu (s. 30. toukokuuta 1949) on suomalainen mezzosopraano ja pianonsoiton opettaja. Hänet tunnetaan erityisesti lukuisista Kaj Chydenius -tulkinnoistaan sekä Agit Prop -kvartetista. Kamu kirjoitti ylioppilaaksi Alppilan yhteislyseosta vuonna 1968 ja opiskeli Sibelius-Akatemiassa 1968–1974, jolloin taistolaisuus oli vahvasti läsnä opiskelijapiireissä. Opiskeluaikanaan Kamu liittyi Koiton Laulu -kuoroon, jota hän myöhemmin johti vuosina 1976–1977. Agit Prop -yhtyeeseen Kamu liittyi vuonna 1972.

Monna Kamun isä Väinö Kamu oli taiteilija, äiti Eine Syrjänen laulaja, kontrabasisti ja viulunrakentaja, veli Okko Kamu kapellimestari ja toinen veli Esa Kamu alttoviulisti.[1][2][3]
