Michel Béroff

Michel Béroff (s. 9. toukokuuta 1950 Épinal) on ranskalainen pianisti ja kapellimestari.[1][2]

Béroff valmistui Pariisin konservatoriosta vuonna 1966 ja sai seuraavana vuonna ensipalkinnon Olivier Messiaenin kunniaksi järjestetyssä kansainvälisessä pianokilpailussa.[3] Hän on sittemmin profiloitunut Olivier Messiaenin teosten tulkitsijana.[1] Hänen kanssaan yhteistyötä tehneitä kapellimestareita ovat olleet Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, Eugen Jochum, Erich Leinsdorf, Kurt Masur, Seiji Ozawa, Georges Prêtre, André Previn, Mstislav Rostropovitš, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Georg Solti, Michael Tilson Thomas ja David Zinman. Kamarimuusikkona Béroff on tehnyt yhteistyötä esimerkiksi Martha Argerichin, Barbara Hendricksin, Lynn Harrellin, Jean-Philippe Collardin, Augustin Dumayn ja Pierre Amoyalin kanssa.[3]

Béroff on tehnyt levytyksiä esimerkiksi EMI:lle ja Deutsche Grammophonille. Hänen levyttämiensä teosten säveltäjiin ovat kuuluneet Franz Liszt, Sergei Prokofjev, Igor Stravinsky, Maurice Ravel ja Claude Debussy. Béroff on saanut useita Grand Prix du Disque -palkintoja. Hän on tehnyt opetustyötä Pariisin konservatoriossa ja istunut monien pianokilpailujen tuomaristoissa.[3] Hänen oppilaidensa joukossa on ollut Chopin-kilpailun voittanut Seong-jin Cho. Kapellimestarina Béroff on johtanut esimerkiksi Lyonin kansallisorkesteria, Lillen kansallisorkesteria ja UC Berkeleyn sinfoniaorkesteria.[1]
