Kiiltoruusu[1] (Rosa virginiana) on ruusukasvien heimoon ja ruusujen sukuun kuuluva puuvartinen monivuotinen kasvilaji, joka kasvaa luonnonvaraisena Pohjois-Amerikan itäosissa[2][3]; kyseisellä alueella kasvi on yleisin villiruusulaji. Kiiltoruusu on kesävihanta pensas, jonka kasvukorkeus on joskus jopa kaksi metriä, mutta tavallisesti vähemmän. Kasvin varret ovat peittyneet lukuisiin koukkukärkisiin piikkeihin. Sulkamaiset lehdet koostuvat tavallisesti 7-9 kiiltävästä lehdykästä. Vaaleanpunaiset, keskikesällä pitkän ajan kuluessa ilmestyvät kukat kasvavat yksittäin tai pieninä terttuina. Syömäkelpoiset, runsaasti C-vitamiinia sisältävät hedelmät ovat pieniä, pyöreitä ja kirkkaanpunaisia; niistä voi valmistaa sekä hilloa että teetä.

Quest-Ritson ja Quest-Ritson pitävät kiiltoruusua "parhaana ja monikäyttöisimpänä villiruusuna", ja kuvailevat lehtien ruskaväritystä: "Viimeisillä viikoilla koko kasvi muuttuu keltaiseksi, oranssiksi, helakanpunaiseksi, verenpunaiseksi ja ruskeaksi". Viljelyssä kiiltoruusu on saanut Royal Horticultural Societyn Award of Garden Meritin.
