Intibucá on departementti Hondurasin lounaisosassa sisämaassa. Etelästä se rajoittuu El Salvadoriin. Departementin pinta-ala on 3 123 neliökilometriä[1][5][6] ja väkiluku 232 553 asukasta (VL2013).[2] Aluehallinnon toisella tasolla Intibucán departementti jakautuu 17 kuntaan (municipalities).[1][5] Hallinnollisena keskuksena toimii La Esperanza (11 631 as., 2013).[1][7][2]

Intibucán departementti on perustettu vuonna 1883. Samalla sen hallintokeskukseksi nimetylle, vuonna 1848 perustetulle, vuoristossa 1660 metrin korkeudella sijaitsevalle La Esperanzalle myönnettiin kaupungin asema.[8][1][5][7] Departementissa asuu paljon alkuperäiskansoihin kuuluvaa intiaaniväestöä, erityisesti lencoja.[5]

Alueen inhimillisen kehityksen indeksin (HDI) arvo on 0,573 (2022), mikä on varsin alhainen arvo.[3] Alueen tärkeimpiä maataloustuotteita ovat sokeriruoko, maissi, peruna, kahvi, pavut, riisi, durra ja kaali.[1]
