Dan Broström

Dan Broströmin patsas Göteborgissa (1933).

Daniel ”Dan” Broström (1. helmikuuta 1870 Kristinehamn – 24. heinäkuuta 1925 Trönninge) oli ruotsalainen laivanvarustaja, Broström-yhtymän pääomistaja ja liberaalipoliitikko.

Dan Broström oli Axel Broströmin ja Mathilda Olssonin poika. Hän opiskeli Göteborgissa. Hän sai ensimmäisen työpaikkansa Saksan Königsbergistä vuonna 1889 ja seuraavana vuonna hän siirtyi Hulliin, Englantiin. Broströmistä tuli Ruotsin suurimpia laivanvarustajia, ja hän oli muun muassa perustamassa Svenska Amerika Linieniä vuonna 1914. Hän liitti yhtiöryhmäänsä myös Götaverkenin ja Eriksbergin telakat.[1]

Broström oli myös kansanedustajana toisessa kamarissa vuosina 1906–1911. Ruotsin meriministerinä hän toimi 1914–1917.

Broström menehtyi auto-onnettomuudessa 1925. Vielä 1960-luvun alussa Broströmin lesken ja pojan omistama varustamo hallitsi noin kolmannesta Ruotsin kauppalaivojen tonnistosta[2], ja Broström-konserni oli telakoineen Göteborgin suurin työnantaja noin 18 000 työntekijällä[3].[1]
