Chris Stapleton (s. 15. huhtikuuta 1978) on yhdysvaltalainen laulaja-lauluntekijä ja kitaristi.[1][2]

Stapleton syntyi Lexingtonissa ja varttui Staffordsvillessa Kentuckyssa. Hänen isänsä oli kaivosmies, ja äiti oli töissä terveydenhuoltoalalla. Hän opetteli kitaransoiton itsenäisesti ja aloitti biolääketieteen tekniikan opinnot Vanderbiltin yliopistossa Nashvillessa, mutta keskeytti opinnot keskittyäkseen enemmän musiikkiin.[2][1][3]

Stapleton alkoi tehdä yhteistyötä lauluntekijä Steve Leslien kanssa Nashvillessa ja teki sopimuksen Sea Gayle Music -musiikkikustantamon kanssa. Hän kirjoitti Josh Turnerin hittikappaleen ”Your Man” (2006). Ennen soolouraa hän soitti perustamassaan bluegrassyhtyeessä nimeltä SteelDrivers, jota seurasi southern rock -yhtye Jompson Brothers. Hän julkaisi SteelDriversin kanssa kaksi studioalbumia ja Jompson Brothersin kanssa yhden.[2][3]

Mercury Nashville julkaisi Stapletonin esikoissooloalbumin Traveller toukokuussa 2015. Albumi saavutti kärkipaikan Billboard 200 -listalla ja myi kuusinkertaisesti platinaa Yhdysvalloissa ja kultaa Kanadassa. Traveller oli Billboardin valinta 2010-luvun parhaaksi countryalbumiksi. Kappale ”Tennessee Whiskey”, jonka David Allan Coe alun perin levytti vuonna 1981, saavutti 10 miljoonan myyntirajan vuonna 2021. Hän esitti kappaleen myös duettona Justin Timberlaken kanssa marraskuussa 2015.[4][2][5][6][7]

Stapleton on voittanut kymmenen Grammy-palkintoa.[8]
