Biokertyvyys

Biokertyvyys on aineen kyky kertyä eliöön.[1] Orgaanisten aineiden taipumusta biokertyvyyteen arvioidaan tavallisesti oktanoli/vesi-jakautumiskertoimen avulla, joka ilmaistaan yleensä log Kow -arvona. CLP-luokituksen mukaan aineella on taipumus biokertyvyyteen, jos log Kow ≥ 4. Biokertyvyystekijä (BCF) voidaan määrittää kokeellisesti kalalle ja se mittaa ominaisuutta paremmin. Aine tulkitaan mahdollisesti biokertyväksi, jos kalan BCF ≥ 500.[2]
