Pendant arte-bibliografian erabiltzen den terminoa da, bereziki "pendant osatu" esamoldean. Horrekin pieza pare bat izendatzen da: bi koadro, bi eskultura edo baita dekorazio-arteetako obrak ere, hala nola erlojuak edo argimutilak; biak espazio egokian batera erakusteko dira, adibidez, ate baten alboetan edo simetria osatuz gela batean edo arasa baten gainean. Normalean neurri eta proportzio berberak izaten dituzte, eta gai artistiko berari buruzkoak izaten dira.
Etimologia
"Pendant" hitza frantsesetik dator eta esanahi desberdinak ditu: "zintzilikari" baina baita ere "antzekoa" edo "berdina"; "être le pendant" esamoldea, bestetik, "kontrapartea izan"; "faire pendant" "parekatu" izango litzateke.[1]
