Kimiotrofo
Kimiotrofoak energia iturria molekulen oxidazioetatik lortzen duten bizidunak dira. Molekula horiek inorganikoak izan daitezke (bizidun kimiolitotrofoak) edo organikoak (kimiorganotrofoak).
Energia iturria molekula organikoa ala inorganikoa izan, bizidun kimiotrofoek euren metabolismoaren bidez hasierako energia hori energia biokimiko bihurtzen dute, ATP moduan. ATP hori izango da zelulak bere funtzioak burutu ahal izateko erabiliko duen molekula energetikoa.
Kimiotrofoak autotrofoak ala heterotrofoak izan daitezke.
