Dimenhidrinato farmako antihistaminikoa, antikolinergikoa, antibertiginosoa eta antiemetikoa da, ahotik eta bide parenteraletik aktiboa. Kimikoki, dimenhidrinatoa difenhidraminaren ( % 55 difenhidramina du) eta 8-kloroteofilinaren deribatua da.[1] Dimenhidrinatoa antiemetiko gisa erabiltzen dute, batez ere, haurdunaldiko hiperemesia eta hegazkinez edo itsasontziz egiten diren bidaiei lotutako goragaleak eta gorakoak prebenitzeko eta tratatzeko.
