Zazil Há

Ix Chel Ka'an[1]​ fue una princesa maya del cacicazgo (kuchkabal) de Chactemal (actual Chetumal) que era gobernado por Nachán Can, su padre. Cuando Gonzalo Guerrero se ganó la simpatía de su padre al demostrar sus grandes habilidades como sirviente y estratega militar, fue entregada por su padre a este. Con Guerrero, tuvo tres hijos: una hija primogénita, llamada Ixmo y dos varones.

En ello se basaron algunos autores, como Eugenio Aguirre, que novelaron la biografía de Gonzalo Guerrero. Además, existe Ixchel más conocida como Ix Chel, la diosa del amor (argumento lírico), tejido, fertilidad, maternidad, medicina etc, a quien los mayas veneraban en Cozumel, y que Francisco Hernández de Córdoba encontrará en Isla Mujeres, muchas figurillas representándola a ella y a su séquito: Aixchel, Ixchebeliax, Ixbunic, Ixbunieta. Por otra parte están las diosas Ixtab (diosa de los ahorcados) o Ix Chak Chel (diosa anciana). En Yucatán, México, se la conoce mejor como Zazil Há.
